Ralph Bowen
Saxophonist Ralph Bowen first made his mark on the New York jazz scene in the 1980s as a co-leader of Bluenote Records' sextet "OTB-Out of the Blue." Along with Kenny Garrett, Robert Hurst, Steve Wilson, Rene Rosnes, Kenny Davis, Ralph Peterson, Harry Pickens, and Mike Mossman, OTB recorded four CDs for Bluenote. Since that departure, Ralph has taken his "casual perfectionism" to clubs, concert halls, and festivals worldwide.
Bowen's discography of over 70 titles includes collaborations with Horace Silver, Michel Camilo, Orrin Evans, Jim Beard, Brian Lynch, and Rene Rosnes, among many others. As a leader, Bowen has recorded six CDs. Bowen’s newest release "Dedicated" for the Posi-tone Record Label features Adam Rogers, Antonio Sanchez, John Pattitucci, and Sean Jones.
